Proper Work 2009 & Before

Loani snuck into large organisations and spring-cleaned and restructured electronic filing systems - a modern filing fairy. Before that she like to administrate for artistic and charitable organisations.  And in another life entirely, she mucked about on the viola and taught little kids how to whip out a tune on their own instruments.

Family

Loani is the happy mother of one grown up son, Benjamin Bunny and daughter-in-law, Giada. She is ridiculously smitten with one deliciously happy Pound Puppy, Charlie, and two slothful Burmese cats, Purl and Bruce. And thanks her lucky stars for her real beaut bloke, Julian.

Oh and.. Loani sometimes talks about herself in the third person.  She can't help herself.

Fabric Follies - NOW

Loani is now translating all that tea cosy colour and joy into fabric follies; wearable art and quirky quilts. She is making her unique mark in the land of stitching and is ready to share it with you.

2016 She ate her words about quilts and quilting. And finished her first fabric blankie.

2017 Discovered a bunch of fellow quilters to play with in the Wallace House Quilters.

2018 Became a compulsive fabric collector (insert rolling eyes emoji here).

2019 Curated A Life in Patches exhibition at the Noosa Art Gallery.

2019 Began testing the Fantastical Fabric Follies workshop out on her patchwork friends. Those lovely jubelies! She is so so thankful for their trust and guidance.

2020 Began teaching Fantastical Fabric Follies - a Collage Design workshop.

2021 Learned not to give all her stuff away. She might need one or two for show and tell.

2022 Australasian Quilt Convention - Tutor, Speaker and exhibitor.

2022 Queensland Quilters Exhibition - Judges Choice (Catherine Butterworth) Award

And .. Viewers Choice Award

2023 Grampians Texture, Fantastical Follies Workshop - Halls Gap, Victoria
